There were a handful of prototype cars, buses, motorcycles, and trucks being introduced that literally lifted the imaginations of tens of thousands of spectators on that one day alone. Toyoda Gyosei (Toyota), Suzuki, and Nissan, were the main Japanese players that made an impression to me because they showed off three features well that are most important to me.
- safety
- advanced technology
- efficient and environmentally-friendly concepts
I think these three features make these companies quite attractive and will pull them through these hard economic times*.(*The Japanese auto industry is an export driven industry and has been having a hard time making profits because of the the current strong yen!)
My favorite one is the Mercedes. A beautiful car seemingly worth every penny and a clear definition of redefining luxury. Just look at that interior and the style!!!
Another Benz…
and you cannot forget the girls!
As for taking photographs at the Tokyo Auto Show, it was pretty tough, challenging, and kind of funny!
It was tough because there were a lot of people competing for the best positions.
It was challenging because of the interior ighting would change from booth to booth. Sometimes it would be super bright, and sometimes it would be dim with purple lighting… but these things are all just fun stuff in photography. I didn’t even bring my strobe because I just wanted to use ambient light available for my shots.
